Assistant Aquatic Supervisor

New Albany Country Club is currently accepting applications for year-round Assistant Aquatic Supervisor.

This is a full-time, year-round, hourly position. The pay range is $18.00 - $20.00/hour, plus commission for swim lessons.

Job Summary: Assist the aquatic supervisor in organizing and supervising the operations of the aquatics department and major areas of aquatic programs, which includes providing program support, maintaining certification records, scheduling staff, and ensuring pool safety and proper maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Ensure aquatic team members provide a safe, friendly, and fun environment for members by helping the Aquatic Supervisor conduct orientation, shadowing, direction, and feedback.
  • Assists in facilitating and lifeguard training on pool safety and rescue techniques.
  • Respond professionally and timely to member inquiries about NACC programs, products, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in helping our members enjoy their club and facilities.
  • Help oversee and manage all NACC B&T club events, swim meets, and parties.
  • Responsible for marketing and promoting all aquatic programs, including swim lessons, to drive revenue, making sure all team members are knowledgeable and able to assist with promoting.
  • Responsible for daily inspections to ensure pool area cleanliness and safety.
  • Assures all pool equipment is maintained and properly working and updates Aquatic Supervisor with purchasing needs for the department.
  • Responsible for monthly lifeguard schedule and filling in open lifeguard/swim instructor positions.
  • Monitor payroll forecasting to minimize overtime.
  • Immediately reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors or membership abuse relating to members and club usage.
  • Help teach swim lessons.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Licenses and Special Requirements
  • American Red Cross Basic First Aid required training on AED units and possession of a current Red Cross CPR card.
  • Current lifeguard certification.
  • Current lifeguard instructor certification.
  • Must have two or more years of experience as a lifeguard.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Working conditions are often hot, humid, slippery, and wet.
  • Able to work in a busy and noisy environment.
  • Able to tolerate the smell of chlorine.
