An important element of the position is to develop strong partnerships with the Central Division Bankers, creating prudent opportunities to grow the portfolio. You will have experience influencing and setting risk guidelines for clear, concise and consistent credit decisions across the division.Job Responsibilities: Risk advisor to the Central Division providing risk management oversight for origination and portfolio - Client and Banker interface via site visits as needed Provide guidance to Central Division Banker and credit partners to ensure clear alignment on risk appetite, portfolio credit quality and trends Identify emerging segment, market and division trends. Recommend modification to credit origination and/or portfolio monitoring as appropriate Lead on deal reviews and approvals from a credit perspective aligned with credit authority and exposure and serve as escalation point for division Communicate complex issues in a concise fashion to senior management in committee and forum settings Interact with other functional areas (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Underwriting, Bankers) to ensure appropriate risk tolerance is identified and maintained Provide subject matter expertise on credit-related Guidelines, Requirements and ProceduresRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree a plus A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible banking/lending experience within business/commercial banking, preferably in risk management and credit review and approval Extensive understanding of credit underwriting fundamentals, grading methodology and rating rationale Ability to proactively interpret industry trends that may impact the loan portfolio Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and provide guidance to Bankers and credit teams on all credit-related matters Experience in developing strong partner relationships across a line of business
