Compensation: $17.40 - $24.86 / hour

Description

As the Safety Specialist in our Intermodal Division, you will establish and reinforce a culture of health and safety that prevents accidents and injuries within the workplace and ensure that all corrective measures are implemented when required. What you'll do:

• SHIFT - Noon - 8pm Eastern
• Develop and establish a culture of health and safety in the workplace by preparing and enforcing policies
• Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and ensure compliance with the law
• Communicate data from the weekly Operations Management Report
• Monitor compliance with policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
• Partner with maintenance personnel to inspect equipment and machinery, and observe possible unsafe conditions
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover root causes
• Recommend solutions, improvement opportunities, or preventive measures
• Data entry skills
• Customer service skills

What you'll have:

• 1 year of related work experience
• Experience preparing and presenting safety reports to executive management
• Experience in safety and health work
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to clearly communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce
• Demonstrated supervisory skills, especially leading and motivating others to implement new processes
