Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Developing written plans and permit applications associated with state and federal programs for industrial stormwater discharges and oil pollution prevention (e.g., Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans; Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans;
  • Supporting projects involving due diligence with substantial historical research including ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments;
  • Supporting stormwater management, site characterization and remediation projects;
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals; and
  • Developing task, project, and client management skills.
Education and Licensure:
  • Bachelors degree in environmental or civil engineering, environmental science, or related discipline. (required)
  • Advanced degree (M.S.) in environmental or civil engineering or environmental science. (preferred)
  • Appropriate registration or practice area accreditation in your field [e.g., professional engineer (P.E.)], or currently working towards certification.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years (5+ preferred) of experience working in a consulting or manufacturing or industrial environment, with a working knowledge of industrial processes, and their impacts to the environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Experience providing multi-media environmental compliance services, such as compliance assessments and audits. (required)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental compliance, assessments, and plan development. (preferred)
  • Prior experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products. (required)
  • Experience with GIS and databases. (preferred)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Valid U.S. drivers license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
