Lubrizol is seeking an experienced Product Steward to serve our Engineered Polymers business segment, which emphasizes development of new chemistry and new technologies to sustain global market leadership. The Product Steward will be responsible for supporting Engineered Polymers highly diverse markets served, including many of which are highly regulated. This is a highly cross-functional role that has strong relationships with all commercial units, R&D and legal. Responsibilities include communicating anticipated regulatory changes to assigned business related to markets served, geographic regions, and specific chemicals under regulatory scrutiny. This Product Steward will need to use professional judgment to manage complex regulatory challenges having multiple interpretations to meet business needs while adhering to corporate ethical and legal conduct guidelines.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**

* Serves as the single point of contact to the business for all product safety and compliance issues.

* Provides technical expertise and value-added product stewardship services to internal and/or external customers and their commercial partners, both proactively and in response to requests for support.

* Communicates new product approval data requests and significant changes to product labels and SDSs in a timely manner.

* Ensures compliance with market-specific requirements in specific end-use applications.

* Serves as gatekeeper in protection of confidential business information from disclosure to customers and/or 3rd parties without proper business case/justification and protection.

* Identifies and communicates business opportunities and threats arising from current and future legislation and industry product stewardship trends in line with business or company-wide objectives; proactively monitors specific legislation and product stewardship trends.

* Identifies and drives risk mitigation initiatives to protect the business from potential regulatory threats.

* Integrates with business groups to develop intimate knowledge of business strategy, chemistry, products, end use application markets and associated product exposure scenarios to identify specific product stewardship issues and needs based on a comprehensive understanding of the business.

* Collaborates with R&D, Supply Chain and Operations organizations and various business functions to encourage product stewardship principles and practices throughout the product life cycle, thereby assisting the business in developing products with a lower hazard profile.

**Requirements**

* BS degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, or related scientific discipline

* 3+ years experience in a product stewardship, regulatory, or compliance position, or other relevant industrial experience

* Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and appropriately manage priorities

* Self-motivated and comfortable working in a team environment

* Detail oriented and results driven with highly effective decision-making skills

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Proficient with computer skills and business-related computer software programs

* Ability to travel 10% globally
