Summary: This role is responsible for employing a logical, systematic approach to problem solving and research using analytical techniques to achieve business objectives and drive change. Responsible for gathering and synthesizing data and other relevant information to develop fact-based conclusions and make business recommendations for all areas of the business. What You ll Be Doing:

Translates corporate strategy into analytic projects that inform and drive business performance.Creates, documents, tests, deploys, audits, and manages statistical techniques and predictive models.Works with the Data Warehouse, IT, business units, and third-party companies to assess and incorporate demographic, firmographic, geographic, telematic, internet-of-things (IOT), drone, wearables, sensor, social media, and other data sources for analytic benefit.Determines and conducts appropriate exploratory data analysis techniques on candidate data sets. Uses appropriate sampling techniques and thoroughly documents assumptions, methodology, validation and testing.Explores data using a variety of advanced statistical techniques to answer business questions or shape future model development.Analyzes new data sources for availability and quality, and integrate with internal sources to support research or analytics.Leverages advanced business and analytical knowledge to build complex predictive models to address complex business problems and business needs.Applies traditional and innovative analytical and modeling approaches to draw conclusions and make recommendations on business tactics and strategies.Researches and maintains awareness of industry best practices and business strategies.Proactively brings in new and innovative ideas and approaches to develop business solutions.Monitors industry and competitor trends to determine potential impact to predictive models.Identifies, leverages and develops expertise in emerging technologies, open source tools, and harnesses new mathematical techniques.With minimal guidance, collaborates with stakeholders to gather, consolidate and validate business assumptions relevant to the solution strategy both prior to and throughout the analytical process.With minimal guidance, communicates findings in a manner that conveys understanding, influences management and garners support for recommendations.May be required to introduce advanced GIS modeling capabilities to optimize agency distribution and assess new markets within and outside our current footprint.May be required to build or consult on profile, segmentation, and impact-analysis automated tools. Perform market, portfolio, and customer/prospect segmentation to optimize strategies and spend.What You ll Bring To The Company:

Bachelor s degree in a quantitative field of study required. Advanced degree in a quantitative field preferred.5 years of work experience employing analytics. Prior insurance industry experience preferred but not mandatory.Experience with SAS, R, Python or a comparable data analysis tool required.Proven skills in data management and data extraction working with large data sets preferred.Must have an aptitude for critical thinking, problem resolution and strong communication skills.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.Working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.About Us: Grange Insurance Company, with $3.1 billion in assets and more than $1 billion in annual revenue, is an insurance provider founded in 1935 and based in Columbus, Ohio.
