**Safety Manager - Careers - Details****Careers****Safety Manager****Safety Manager**Join the industry leader, established in 1968; Miller Transfer is a legal and specialized flatbed carrier whose focus is transporting machinery and over-dimensional freight.Miller Transfer is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to serve as the Safety Manager at our Corporate Headquarters in Rootstown, Ohio.The Safety Manager provides assistance for the administration of essential task coordination in safety, claims, training and development, OSHA program requirements and safety awards.Additionally, the Safety Manager will advise and assist the Safety Department by being fully cross-trained to fulfill the duties and/or responsibilities of the log department, compliance, license, and registration.**Specific Duties***

Assist with Safety Event investigation and documentation procedures.*

Advise on provisions to minimize safety risk in all aspects of the business.*

Develop, instruct, and enforce OSHA regulations and reporting.*

Assist with project implementation.*

Skilled at project management and implementation.* Intervene in unsafe activities or operations.*

Utilize computer to access various compliance portals to monitor safety performance.*

Understand and enforce both DOT and FMCSA regulations.* Assist in the development of varying training resources to improve results.*

Cross training required into other areas of the safety teams responsibilities.*

Assist with driver orientation and the sign-on process in entirety.*

Ability to be on call during off hours*

Ability to travel up to 20%* Responsible for overseeing the Million Miles Driver Safety Club**Requirements***

Proven experience as a safety coordinator or similar role within truck transportation.*

In-depth knowledge and understanding of HOS/DOT/FMCSA/HMR regulations.*

Experienced in JSA creation and implementation.*

Experienced in conducting hands-on safety training instruction.*

Excellent computer, communication, and organizational skills.*

Ability to apply for and secure a Passport and TWIC credentials.*
