Utility Analyst

Job description

CALIBRE Systems, Inc., an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology services company, is looking for a Utility Analyst to support the U.S. Army Office of Energy Initiatives (OEI).

The U.S. Army Office of Energy Initiatives (OEI) is the central management office for the business case development and execution of large-scale (>10MW) renewable and alternative energy security projects with preferred financing through private capital investment. OEI uses existing Department of Defense (DoD) authorities, including those for power purchase agreements (PPA), enhanced use leases (EUL) and easements, to attract private capital investment.

Required Experience

  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Public Trust
  • 5 years experience with development of large-scale energy projects
  • Experience working with utilities, public utility commissions, large Government or DoD customers.
  • Must have a B.S./B.A. Preferred degree in Economics.
  • Plans and conducts detailed economic analysis and modeling of current and future electric rates based on capital base maturity, technological change, fuel costs, emission and other regulation, and other macro-economic trends.
  • Provides analysis of current and projected utility tariff schedules and installation load requirements.
  • Develops strategies for alternate tariff schedules based on peak shaving or other load altering projects supported by detailed financial modeling. Works closely with financial analyst to ensure incorporation of proper macro- economic assumptions. Design and construction of utility and transmission line systems and interconnections
  • Development and deployment of various microgrid and major grid control technologies with utility systems and utility infrastructures
  • Makes recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.
  • Performs risk assessments and analyses employing modeling and simulation techniques.

Preferred Experience: Preferred experience working with Army and DoD executive organizations.
