Village Veterinary Clinic is looking for a full Kennel Attendant to join our team!

What are we looking for?

The Kennel Attendant aides in the comfort and TLC of patients in our practice.

The role of the Kennel Attendant is simple - provide the best quality care while our pet guests are lodging with us! These members of our staff can handle everything from the most spirited Labrador to geriatric cats needing extra TLC. There's lots of cleaning, but also lots of love!

You will be responsible for basic patient care, facility cleaning and maintenance, customer service and team communication that may be delegated by others on our veterinary team.

What will you do?

* Handle animals as required.

* Provide care for animals housed/visiting the Hospital. Report signs of illness, disease, injury or unusual activity to medical staff.

* Clean, disinfect and maintain kennels, cages, runs and stalls as often as is necessary to ensure no cages or kennels are soiled and odors are not apparent.

* Perform general cleaning in other areas of the hospital to control the spread of disease. Wash and sterilize water and food bowls.

* Launder and dry towels and blankets.

* Work well with all employees and ensure that your actions support the hospital, the doctors and the practice philosophy.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

What do you have?

* Must be able to work occasional weekends

* Delivers strong client service, including effective communication skills with clients and staff

* Effective time management during high-stress periods

* Computer skills and knowledge for data entry.

* Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

* Understand and carry out oral and written instruction.

* Apply knowledge and skills in controlling/handling/restraining individual animal temperament

* Ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor
