Job Summary

A valid Pupil Personnel Service Credential is required.

Knowledge of current trends/methods in counseling;
Current knowledge of college requirements, both public and private;
Knowledge of, and commitment to, the case management model;
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with community agency and social service staff;
Willingness to meet with students and parents outside of the school day for special programs related to counseling services, i.e. college nights, new parent orientation, etc;
Knowledge of, and experience with, peer resource programs preferred;
Experience with transitional programs (eighth to ninth grades) preferred;
Demonstrated ability to organize delivery systems efficiently and effectively;
Ability and desire to contribute to development of the counseling program;
Ability to use computers to access student information and perform word processing tasks;
Experience in facilitating groups, especially with at-risk students;
Knowledge of career counseling materials and strategies.
