Job description

The Counselor, as a part of the Clinical Team, is responsible for providing effective clinical service delivery using applicable principles of Counseling and/or Social Work which includes patient psychosocial assessment, group and individual psychotherapy, family intervention, client/family education and treatment planning, for Queer Asterisks clients with mild to moderate mental health conditions. The Counselor will work to address other social needs of patients and will utilize area referral sources for needed specialty care. The Counselor attends all required clinical team meetings and collaborates with their Clinical Supervisor on each of their client s care and treatment goals. The Counselor acts as an integral member of Queer Asterisk s Clinical Team, and may at times be asked to represent Queer Asterisk at Denver area community and/or networking events. Preferred Skills and Qualifications Licensed in the State of Colorado (LPCC, MFT, LSW/SWC, etc) - fully licensed preferred, at minimum provisionally licensed required Two years of experience in a behavioral healthcare setting - required One year of recent experience in an adolescent behavioral health setting treating QTBIPOC queer and gender expansive adolescents - preferred Demonstrated ability to operate in compliance with State laws and regulations vis-a-vis Medicaid documentation, policies and procedures relevant to counseling field - required Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The specific statements shown in each section of this Job Description are not intended to be all-inclusive. CLIENT SERVICESProvide individual and group therapy Maintain a full client schedule of 26-28 weekly clinical hours Complete diagnostic assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans in a timely manner Skillfully engage in routine conversations with clients regarding financial responsibilities Utilize accurate and consistent use of documentation forms for all client contacts to ensure best practices and accurate billing of third-party resources Make treatment and social service referrals to appropriate agencies that support client goals Maintain current knowledge of assessment and treatment techniques, and community resources using in-service training, seminars, workshops, and publications SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT Attend ongoing weekly supervision and clinical meetings to ensure that client needs, agency standards and funding requirements are met Follow supervision requirements to be in compliance with academic institutions and third-party payers Work with the operations, community, billing, and legal teams as needed to coordinate services to clients INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COORDINATION Collaborate with colleagues at Queer Asterisk to provide the best service possible Uphold Queer Asterisk philosophy of client-centeredness, empowerment, and cultural proficiency Represent Queer Asterisk in the community, corporate and donor environments by request Queer Asterisk encourages applications from candidates who reflect the communities we serve, which includes Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Queer and Trans individuals.
