Role Description
This is a full-time role (located in the Waco and surrounding rural areas), with flexible schedueling but travelling to the worksites, for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Lone Star Psychiatric Services, you will provide direct patient care and management of psychiatric patients with acute or chronic mental health needs. You will also collaborate with a variety of healthcare professionals and ensure that treatments and medications are delivered safely and effectively to patients, as well as document treatment plans and outcomes.
We need a provider that lives in or is willing to move to the Waco, Texas area and is willing to drive to the nurisng homes in Waco and the surrounding areas.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field
- Current and active license as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas, with board certification as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or or Physician Assistant with Psychiatric Certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with patients, families, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals
- Strong knowledge of current and emerging treatments and medications for psychiatric patients
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage concurrent tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in interdisciplinary team settings
- Prefer Long Term Care experience.
