Assistant Underwriter

Job Description:

A property and casualty company is looking for a Commercial Lines Underwriting Assistant to coordinate and communicate with various parties, including agents, producers and underwriting staff, to support the company's underwriting efforts and take appropriate actions within designated timeframes. This professional will ensure the quality and timeliness of policies and accurately maintain electronic files according to company and regulatory guidelines. In addition, this individual will perform exposure comparisons, quote and issue commercial property, general liability, and inland marine lines of coverage, and process endorsement. This opportunity is anticipated to be 3+ months in duration and located in Dublin, Ohio.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as a commercial insurance underwriting assistant working with small and mid-size accounts
• Moderate knowledge of commercial coverage endorsement rules and regulations
• Proficiency with Microsoft office tools
• Previous commercial insurance rating experience (preferred)
• Carrier experience (preferred)
• Local to Ohio and able to commute into the office 5 days a week
