Description

Job Title: Membership Recruiter, Part Time

Salary Range: $18 per hour, $37,440 per year

This position is Part time (Regular), Non-Exempt and up to 25 hours per week. Ability to work flexible hours Monday through Friday from 3pm - 8pm, and frequently anytime on Saturdays and Sundays for events. Hours not to exceed 25 hours per week.

The Membership Recruiter is responsible for facilitating a robust recruitment strategy for Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, with a particular focus on conducting recruitment events in an assigned geographical area. The Membership Recruiter will work closely with GSSNV membership staff to assist in the overall coordination of services and opportunities for girls and volunteers, to ensure adherence to the organizational mission and values.

The Membership Recruiter is responsible for executing tactics to increase awareness of and participation in Girl Scouting through use of a marketing sales campaign(s), generating leads to meet membership goals by assisting in converting prospects/securing new adult volunteers, new girl members thus increasing overall Girl Scout troop membership growth. The Membership Recruiter will schedule dates and times for school presentations and assist with administrative office work.

This person is responsible for working cross-functionally and collaboratively to ensure all activities required for membership are completed and that membership conversion goals are reached.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may need to be assigned according to the particular needs of your council and areas of supervision.

The Membership Recruiter works closely with the GSSNV Membership Manager to collectively serve volunteers, community partners, and young people and works to:

  • Cultivate relationships across diverse communities to provide new opportunities for young people that are responsive to their cultures and identities. Provide continual education about these opportunities to staff and support community partners as they provide these opportunities to young people.
  • Conduct outreach, recruitment, and screening for troop leaders, mentors, community partners, and other volunteers.
  • Presents the benefits of Girl Scouting to potential girl members and adult volunteers at schools, places of faith, community centers, afterschool programs, etc. by using established scripts as base presentation.
  • Assist in conducting onboarding for troop leaders, mentors, community partners, and other volunteers.
  • Provide superb internal and external customer support to new members, troop leaders, mentors, community partners, volunteers, and staff to meet or exceed GSSNV organizational goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • College degree in Marketing/Sales, Business Management, related field, and/or equivalent experience in a membership organization.
  • 1-2 years of sales or recruiting experience with proven ability to meet/exceed goals.
  • Experience with membership sales and/or volunteer recruitment preferred.
  • Previous work experience in a non-profit or youth services environment preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient computer operation skills and in use of technology. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word), SharePoint, team/knowledge sharing tools, etc.
  • Previous Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application and experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Exceptional people skills, self-management and initiative, an outgoing personality, high energy, team spirit and creativity.
  • Strong public relations skills and ability to develop community collaborations; public speaking for large and small audiences, hands on program delivery working with Girl and Adult members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build authentic relationships with people from diverse racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and gender backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and manage conflict.
  • Ability to work independently within the framework of the council's plan of work.
  • Ability to work flexible hours from Monday to Friday from 3pm - 8pm, and frequently anytime on Saturdays and Sundays for events. Hours not to exceed 25 hours per week.
  • Sufficient eye-to-hand coordination to successfully operate a computer keyboard.
  • Ability to sit upright for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have personal transportation and ability to drive, possess a valid driver's license, maintain personal auto insurance, and meet the council insurance company's requirements for coverage.
  • Valid Driver's License and Girl Scouts membership required upon hire.

Work Environment:

This job function primarily is off-site and will take place at community locations including schools, libraries, community centers, churches, office buildings, parks, camp site, fairgrounds, and other settings as needed. Must be able to work outside during inclement weather conditions including wind, cold, rain, and heat.

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS

This position is not eligible for benefits due to the hours and status of employment with the organization. However, this position is eligible to participate in 401k retirement plan.
