Assistant Director of Guest Services

Evart, MI and Seymour, IN Description Red Envelope is seeking an Assistant Director of Activities for a faith-based non-profit that serves thousands of young people a year in a camp environment.

The Assistant Director of Guest Services at the Indiana Overnight Property (INON) ensures the safety of guests and strives to deliver an outstanding experience to campers, retreat guests, parents, partner churches and other guests who utilize both overnight properties. The Assistant Director of Guest Services manages and trains staff to work in the INON camp store, ensures adequate staff coverage and is responsible for the inventory in the store at our INON location during the summer season. The Assistant Director of Guest Services is located in Michigan for the majority of the year (40 weeks) and serves on-site at the INON property for summer season (12 weeks).

**Responsibilities**

* Provide excellent customer service in a fast paced, every changing environment

* Ensure that guests have a high-quality experience including; summer camp and programmed retreats

* Plan and execute custom retreats for guest groups

* Responsible to contract and invoice groups that align with guest group pricing

* Assist in securing new guest groups during the summer months to meet financial goals for the ministry

* Assist in the recruitment of summer staff during off season (September to May) annually

* Oversee the camp store during the summer months

* Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Activities and Guest Experiences

Requirements **Basic requirements:**

Commitment to the mission and ministry of the organization

**Preferred requirements:**

* Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years working in camping ministry

* A highly motivated self-starter who is able to work unsupervised for extended periods of time and has the ability to exercise good judgment and make informed decisions independently

* Provide fun and engaging experiences for all guests and campers

**Working Conditions and Physical Requirements**

* Must have a reliable vehicle and valid drivers license for required travel

* Able to work nights and weekends

* Ability and willingness to travel, actively recruiting on college campuses during off season (October through May) for approximately 20-25 days per season

* Must be willing to live in or near Evart, Michigan year-round and run camp in Indiana for the summer

* Must be able to lift, bend, and twist

* Ability to push and pull loads

* Must be able to lift frequently up to 50 lbs.; occasionally 50-100 lbs. with assistance

* Good hand-eye coordination
