Description

We are seeking a talented Directional Drill Locator to join our team in Fresno, California. Only candidates with experience in Locator operations, especially those skilled with Subsite technology, are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of practical experience with Subsite Locators. Responsibilities include conducting initial site surveys to identify potential risks, establishing the bore path and depth, working closely with the driller for successful drilling operations, and managing the setup and relocation of the reel trailer.

Candidates should showcase proficiency in operating drilling equipment and associated tools for safe and efficient installations. Essential skills include the ability to comprehend and apply information from plan sets and technical documents. Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment, particularly the locator, during technical issues is highly regarded. Responsibilities

Operate drill locator equipment to accurately install underground utilities, pipelines, and other infrastructure components
Interpret and follow drilling plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient installations
Maintain and troubleshoot drilling equipment, ensure proper functionality, and minimize downtime
Adhere to established safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all team members
Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, and other team members to achieve project goals
Monitor drilling progress, making adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy and efficiency
Document and report drilling activities, including progress, obstacles, and equipment maintenance
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members
Adapt to changing job site requirements and perform additional tasks as needed
Mixing mud to correct viscosity as well as knowledge of what types of additives are needed per ground conditions

Qualifications

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Directional Drill Locator, preferably in the underground utilities or pipeline industry
Proficient in operating horizontal directional drilling equipment and related tools
Strong understanding of drilling procedures, safety protocols, and industry best practices
Ability to read and interpret drilling plans, blueprints, and specifications
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work well with others
Physically fit and able to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods
Willingness to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing job site requirements
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check...
