We are looking for a Electro-Mechanical Calibration Technician for a direct Manufacturing client.

Primary Role:

The Calibration and Testing Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the exceptional quality of the torque sensor product line. The position involves meticulous testing, calibration, and assembly of sensor systems, with a focus on maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.


Key Responsibilities:

Primary Tasks (75%):

  • Test and calibrate torque sensor systems using electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic torsion testers, involving machinery setup, fixture installation, test sequence setup, and data acquisition.
  • Execute the production process for sensor systems, including demagnetization, magnetization, mechanical testing, environmental testing, and calibration.
  • Evaluate and enhance sensor performance based on various parameters such as shaft material, heat treatment, sensor position, magnetization, and environmental conditions.
  • Operate, maintain, and upgrade major equipment and subsystems related to torque testing, electronics, hydraulics, and magnetization.
  • Collaborate with engineers to acquire, analyze, document, and optimize calibration and testing processes for improved efficiency and safety.


Secondary Tasks (25%):

  • Conduct R&D testing on new product features or configurations, supporting design and development engineers.
  • Participate in the physical assembly of deliverable sensor systems, involving mechanical components assembly, soldering, circuit board installation, wiring, and bonding/sealing.
  • Contribute to failure analyses by dissecting and analyzing returned hardware, conducting diagnostic and validation testing, and preparing detailed reports.


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of full-time work experience in a related role.
  • Background in mechanical testing and data acquisition, preferably as a dynamometer operator or laboratory technician working with sensors.
  • Experience with control systems, automated machinery, or data acquisition setups.
  • Strong concern for safety and quality.
  • Proficiency in LabVIEW, MTS Test Suite, or Python (preferred but not required).
  • Detail-oriented with strong mechanical, electrical, and software skills.
  • Familiarity with wiring harness assembly protocols and general machine shop skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Understanding of sensor or instrumentation calibration protocols; hands-on experience with machine operation and device building.


Education:

An Associate's Degree in machining, mechanical technology, electronics, automotive technology, or CNC machinery is preferred but not required. Candidates without a degree but with substantial relevant experience will be considered.
