We are seeking a skilled and experienced Substation Estimator to join our team. The Substation Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates and proposals for substation construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering or a related field, with expertise in estimating costs for substation projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand the scope of work.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for estimating.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for substation construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Analyze project requirements and constraints to identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
  • Participate in bid meetings and presentations with clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimate revisions, assumptions, and pricing data.
  • Assist in the development of project schedules and budgets as needed.
  • Stay current with industry trends, pricing, and technology advancements related to substation construction.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for substation construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and materials used in substations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with utility-scale substation projects.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to substation construction.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
