JOB DESCRIPTION

The Preschool Safety Team Member works for the Facilities Director and contributes to a safe and secure environment at Crossline Christian Preschool. The position equally shares the responsibilities of campus security and campus maintenance and upkeep. This is an hourly position (as needed) and requires a background check.

SECURITY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a presence, especially during times of school drop off and pickup

* Inspect building, equipment, and access points

* Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people on the property

* Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions

* Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area

* Secure all exits, doors, and windows after the end of operations

* Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation

* Assist with emergency drills and exercises

* Communicate with local police and local authorities

* Submit reports of surveillance activity and important occurrences

* Participate in assigned training to develop campus security guard competencies

* Availability some evenings with advanced notice to be present for special events

JANITOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Daily/nightly security checks and secures buildings

* Lock/Unlock and secure building as directed

* Turn lights on/off and unlock/lock interior doors as directed

* Sweep and mop floors

* Clean buildings by emptying trash, sweeping, and cleaning surfaces

* Steam-clean carpets

* Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces

* Mix various cleaning agents

* Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors

* Adjust thermostats as directed in preparation for worship, meetings, and church functions.

* Set up, take down and store chairs and tables as directed for external group meetings and church functions, vacuuming as if needed after events

* Assist in moving furniture and other equipment as directed

* Advise Office and Facilities Manager/Property Chair of potential building and grounds problems

* Maintain a written list of problems that incumbent cannot address and present list to Facilities Coordinator and/or Facilities Director in a timely manner

* Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant it

* Must be able to deal tactfully with and communicate with staff, volunteers, members and guests

* Must be able to manage time and multiple tasks and projects

* Must be able to track time

Reports to: Facilities Director

Schedule: As needed

Hours: Varies per week

Status: At will employee, Hourly, Exempt, Casual Employee

California Security Guard certification (40-hours initially + 8-hours annually from certified in-person or online provider)

CPR, AED, and First-Aid certification (every two years)

Adjunct member of Safety Ministry (e.g. fellowship, communications, camaraderie, information sharing)

Participate in a minimum of 4-hours of Safety Ministry training every quarter
