Job Description

Library Associate responsible for driving assigned mobile bus/library in a designated service area, assisting patrons in a friendly and professional manner, performing circulation/public service desk duties, computer troubleshooting, collection maintenance and keeping the mobile bus neat, clean and inviting to the patrons, organizations and guests served.

Job Requirements

Requires High School diploma or equivalent with the ability to work directly with the public in a friendly, helpful manner; handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately; have an above average proficiency with computers and knowledge of the available software offered to patrons and have a programming or training background to participate in scheduled activities as assigned. Must have a bright and cheerful nature and the ability to interact with the public and staff in a courteous and professional manner at all times.

The ability to safely drive the mobile library at all times and in all weather conditions is essential. Will require a good driving record and a Commercial Driver s License/CDL or, the ability to successfully participate in available CDL training program to achieve.

The capability of handling up to 35 pounds at one time and to sit, stoop, kneel, walk, reach and stand for periods at a time in tasks assigned which may require reaching or assisting in other activities with similar strengths or postures are common for this classification, with or without reasonable accommodation. Some tasks may require the use of a step stool or ladder, reaching above head, kneeling or sitting on the floor as required. The ability to work in an environment that may contain dust and mildew, varying lighting and noise levels in a public library setting essential.

May require additional training and/or performance of duties outside normal work hours as assigned/required.

Salary

$33,098.64 to $48,691.40 dependent on current CDL status
