JOB SUMMARY:The Housing Associate will oversee the process of turning an apartment from vacating resident to new resident, keep Southern Seminary's housing units in prime living condition, and create initiatives to improve the on-campus experience of current residents and guests. This position will also provide customer service to both residents and housing applicants as well as hotel guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions:
- Keep Southern Seminary's housing units in prime living condition
- Communicate to residents all move-out procedures
- Perform pre-vacate meetings as requested by resident or housing managers
- Evaluate the damages and charges required for returning the apartment to its pre-resident condition
- Communicate with prospective residents concerning rates, availability and status
- Participate in daily activities of the Student Housing Office including answering phones, responding to walk up questions and requests, taking maintenance requests, conducting lease signings and check-outs, answering emails, opening and closing the office
- Process housing applications, assign housing units and process confirmations
- Communicate between the various companies needed to get the apartment ready
- Keep project companies on schedule
- Contact appropriate companies for various maintenance tasks
- Hold all contracted companies to a high and consistent standard
- Conduct thorough inspections of apartments and dorms
- Create work orders
- Maintain consistent communication with Facilities regarding work requests and pending maintenance to dorms and apartments.
- Maintain housing documents
- Answer all emergency phone calls when "on call"
- Occasionally help move dorm furniture and loft beds as needed
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION:The person in this position should have some college completed.
EXPERIENCE:The person in this position will work in the Legacy Hotel. It is a busy office environment, particularly when classes are not in session. The person will also be walking to various apartment buildings on campus and may be asked to assist in moving furniture....
