Title: Senior Escort Service Worker

Department: Social Services

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Program Coordinator

Summary: Provides escort services to clients who need escort services to perform activities such as going to the bank, grocery shopping, medical or dental appointments, senior centers, etc.

Essential Functions:

1. Provides escort services to seniors and adults with disabilities to perform activities such as going to the bank, grocery shopping, medical or dental appointments, senior centers, etc. Meets seniors and travels with them to activities.

2. Confirms and verify referral information with the supervisor regarding the client data, meeting date, time, and location.

3. Based on referral location and demand, plans out the route accordingly for efficiency and quality of service. Escort services can be one-to-one or with multiple seniors if possible.

4. Performs as a safety guard when there is an emergency to protect seniors and follows emergency procedures such as calling 911.

5. Responsible for reporting if there is a possible hate crime or discrimination.

6. Learns and be knowledgeable about updated resources available internally and externally to provide support services.

7. Attends all required training.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Attend required training once hired.

2. Must have an interest in working with older adults and adults with disabilities.

3. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

4. Bilingual in English and Chinese/Spanish/other languages preferred.

5. Follow emergency procedures, call 911 when needed, and report to related departments.

6. Familiar with the community or geography of San Francisco or San Mateo.

7. First aid and CPR certificates are preferred.

8. Must be able to travel via public transportation or personal vehicle for the performance of job duties. If driving, must have and maintain a valid CA driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and auto insurance coverage as specified in Self-Help's policy.
