A day in the life

Russell Stover Chocolates is seeking a motivated, engaged team player to join our staff. The Senior Project Manager is focused on the development and launch of tier 1 new products requiring capital expenditures, operations projects including new equipment installation and commissioning, sustainability projects, R&D projects, and regulatory projects. The Senior Project Manager will establish the Product Specification to deliver the corporate and portfolio goals for confection, packaging, displays and design. Manages project schedule, budget, risk & scope from definition through development and launch. Responsible for successful implementation of all technical aspects of the product & stage gate presentation for technical approvals. This position will report to the Project Management Office (PMO) Senior Manager.

What you will be doing

Establish the product specification to align with product objectives

Focused on tier 1 new items requiring capital expenditures (capex), operations projects including new equipment installation and commissioning, sustainability projects, R&D projects, and regulatory projects

Develop Critical Path Schedule through cross collaboration with project team.

Manage project schedule & scope from ideation to launch.

Develops project cost estimates and overall budget for assigned projects. Initiate potential cost control measures to ensure project budgets are met.

Creates risk management plans. Responsible to identify, analyze, monitor and respond to risks associated with the project

Ensure products meet regulating agency approvals and requirements. Review operational, regulatory and engineering aspects of the project to assure compliance with project objectives.

Execute department short and long-term objectives

Leads cross functional and contractor team members assigned during the duration of a project to ensure on-time & accurate completion of deliverables including development of Statements of Work associated with 3rd party vendor/partners and contractors specific to the deliverables of the Project.

Lead activities required to complete project documentation needed for Stage Gate approval process including project ROI and resource requirements.

Communicate project status/health to team and stakeholders throughout the duration of the assignment and post implementation.

Provides leadership, coaching and guidance on a continuous basis to other project team members for New Product Development procedures, processes and practices.

Travel to plants expected (Kansas & Texas)

Perform all other duties & special projects as assigned

(Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor s degree in a related field of study (Project Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering etc)

5+ year of product or project management experience

Availability to travel 20%

Do you stand above the rest?

(Preferred Qualifications)

Masters Degree related field (MBA, Project Management, Statistics)

PMP certification

5+ years experience leading product development & launch including defining product specifications to meet engineering, regulatory and operational requirements in manufacturing environment, CPG & Food industry

Excellent verbal and written communication to drive clarity and alignment

Ability to partner with finance to create product P&Ls

Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office suite, MS Project, Smartsheet

Must have the ability to work autonomously and be equally passionate about working with a cross functional team

Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to work in an organized manner

Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet tight timelines across multiple projects in a fast paced environment

Able to work with senior executives, department heads and managers, as well as mentor co-workers
