Airport Operations Manager, Fuel Farm Facility

Job description

The Menzies Aviation Fuel Facility Manager will oversee all operations of a fuel facility, tank farm, truck loading operations, and hydrant system operation ensuring facility delivers on-spec product in a safe manner. This individual will work with engineering personnel on projects, which affect the operational integrity of the facility. Other responsibilities include interfacing with County and airline personnel and keep all appraised to ongoing projects and operations in general.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain contact with the county aviation department coordinator, airlines into-plane agents and regulatory agencies
  • Work with engineers on design criteria for difference elements within the facility
  • Oversee all contractors and construction projects, also prepares and issues work orders and contracts for fuel facility
  • Direct involvement in budget compliance and preparation
  • Directs procurement of all maintenance and operation preventative maintenance
  • Directs preparation of work schedule to obtain optimum utilization of human resources and facilities
  • Oversees all administrative personnel
  • Assist in development of training material and procedural manuals, and conduct training and orientation as necessary for base programs
  • Responsible for hiring, terminations, and/or disciplinary actions for all fuel facility and administrative employees; while also, performs annual evaluations on same
  • Oversight of Worker's Compensation claims and filing
  • Perform incident/accident investigations
  • Performs all duties of the Drug & Alcohol Administrator conducting annual classes for all fuel facility and administrative employees and management
  • Assist General Manager and support personnel as required
  • Is able to meet the Station's attendance standards


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior Aircraft Fueling experience required
  • Prior management, supervisory or lead experience in the Aviation industry preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Possess and maintain a valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Must be comfortable lifting 70lbs repetitively
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal
  • To report any significant deficiency in our products, materials and documents
  • Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practices especially those relating to safety and security
  • 40-Hour HAZMAT Certification
  • OSHA Train the Trainer

Opening and closing valves involves twisting and pulling motion and sometimes considerable physical exertion.

Other tasks include digging and shoveling, such as snow removal around equipment and office. Employee may also engage in debris removal which involves lifting, bending and stooping. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70lbs.
