In this role, you'll be responsible for performing diverse tasks in construction, renovation, installation, and maintenance of the Zoo's facilities and exhibits. Employment Status: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Starting Pay: $18.52-$21.30 Hourly

Experience Required: Experience equivalent to six (6) years commercial multi-trades field experience.

Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma or G.E.D.

Department: Maintenance Services.

Direct Supervisor: Manager Maintenance.

Supervisory Responsibility: Direct (0); Indirect (0)

Primary Work Location: Zoo Setting both indoors and outdoors.

Certification: Valid Oklahoma driver's license and pass a driver's history check. Valid forklift license within ninety (90) days of hire.

Other: This position is safety sensitive. It is subject to pre-employment and/or periodic background checks and drug testing.

Essential Job Functions

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties:
  • Perform commercial locksmith duties.
  • Perform commercial carpentry and framing.
  • Perform minor commercial electrical, plumbing, welding, painting, and HVAC work.
  • Perform commercial glass installation, cutting, maintenance, and repair.
  • Perform commercial fencing installation and repair.
  • Perform commercial sheetrock, framing, and sheet metal.
  • Perform commercial overhead door, window, door, ceiling grid, animal containment, and hardware work.
  • Perform commercial concrete work, including slabs and finishing, brick, block, artificial rock/trees, and road work.
  • Perform installation/repair of roofing, flooring, appliances, food equipment, rides, guttering, insulation, and pumps.
  • Update and program various building electronic opening systems.
  • Perform material and construction research and create estimates.
